Luxury motor yacht Y706 under construction

September 2009 – To make life on board the motor yacht as pleasant as possible, it has been fitted out with every conceivable convenience. There is a chopper pad, a swimming pool, a cinema and an entertainment area on board. De Boer Staal supplied 600 tons of steel plate and bulb flats (Grade A ship quality) for the hull of this 86-metre-long motor yacht.

The hull for Y706 was built by Machinefabriek & Constructiewerkplaats B. Zwijnenburg from Krimpen aan den IJssel. Zwijnenburg is the regular hull builder for OceAnco, one of the largest yacht builders in the Netherlands. De Boer Staal regularly teams up with Zwijnenburg, and it delivered the sheet steel and the bulb flats (Grade A quality). The steel hull was completed in March and joined to the three-level aluminium deck.Every conceivable luxury on boardThe Y706 will be completed in Alblasserdam and the vessel will be delivered in late 2010. It has been fitted out with every conceivable luxury. For example, the living room of the yacht has a cinema screen measuring 5 x 2 metres. The yacht also has a pool measuring 6.5 x 3.5 metres that can be transformed at the press of a button into a chopper pad or an entertainment area. The tender room (the 'garage’) can accommodate two boats measuring 7.5 and 11 metres and four jet-skis. These boats are needed to go ashore, because the draught of the vessel is too deep for a large number of harbours.
